(Watertown, SD) – NATE: The Communications Infrastructure Contractors Association today unveiled a video devoting coverage to the topic of safety ropes utilized in the communications tower industry. The video is the fourth to debut in Volume 7 of the Association’s popular #ClimberConnection Series.
The video includes an informative, back and forth dialogue between narrator Sean Gilhooley and Loui McCurley, CEO of NATE member company Beal-PMI, Inc. During their conversation, Gilhooley and McCurley discuss the types of safety ropes currently utilized in the industry, the materials that comprise the ropes, the performance characteristics of the ropes, rigging considerations for safety ropes, rope inspection protocols, and the impact of weather and other environmental conditions on ropes.
“Safety ropes are such a valuable, essential tool utilized by workers at tower sites,” stated Loui McCurley. “I would encourage the industry’s technician workforce to watch and share this video with their peers in the industry. I also would encourage companies both large and small to incorporate this video into their tailgate safety meetings and training sessions to further educate their employees on the safe utilization of ropes,” added McCurley.
