NATE and SBA Communications Corporation Host Georgia Congressman Buddy Carter on Tower Site Visit

(Savannah, GA) – NATE: The Communications Infrastructure Contractors Association and member company SBA Communications Corporation today facilitated an opportunity for Congressman Buddy Carter to conduct a communications tower site visit in the 1st Congressional District of Georgia.

During the visit, Congressman Carter toured the 404’ SBA Communications Corporation guyed tower and compound in Savannah, Georgia with event participants and heard directly from representatives of SBA Communications Corporation regarding the vital wireless infrastructure solutions and services they deploy to support wireless networks in markets throughout the Americas, Africa, and the Philippines.

Congressman Carter was also able to speak with representatives from both NATE and SBA Communications Corporation about the industry’s workforce development initiatives, training and safety protocols and legislative and regulatory priorities.

Additionally, the event also provided an invaluable forum for Congressman Carter to discuss his legislative priorities given that he serves on the House Energy & Commerce Subcommittee on Communications and Technology which has extensive jurisdiction over many of the issues impacting our industry.

David Sams, VP of Risk Management at SBA Communications Corporation, Ryan Coppola, Director of Safety at SBA Communications Corporation, NATE Wireless Industry Network (WIN) Liaison Molly Cooper from eSystem Training Solutions and NATE Workforce Consultant Dr. Gemma Frock served as the primary on-site hosts at the event.

“It was an honor to host Congressman Carter at our SBA tower site in Savannah today,” stated David Sams. “These wireless site visits are outstanding ‘show and tell’ opportunities that serve to educate influential lawmakers about the role that the industry’s technicians, contractors, and vertical real-estate companies perform daily to enable connectivity. Thank you to NATE for partnering with us on this important outreach and to Congressman Carter for his ongoing support for our industry’s priorities,” added Sams.
