The Broadband Wireless Specialist (BWS) Curriculum is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of wireless networks in homes and small businesses. Learners will gain an understanding of wireless, Wi-Fi standards, Wi-Fi network devices, planning and implementation, security, RF basics, antenna theory, installation, and Wi-Fi troubleshooting.
There are four (4) courses in the BWS Curriculum:
- Residential Wireless Networks
- Wi-Fi Network Operations
- Wi-Fi Radio Frequency Operations
- Wi-Fi Installation and Security
Recommend Prerequisite:
- SCTE Broadband Premises Installation Fundamentals or equivalent

Certification Exam Information:
Upon completion of all four parts of the Broadband Wireless Specialist (BWS) curriculum, learners will be prepared to earn the internationally recognized SCTE Broadband Wireless Specialist (BWS) certification. The certification is designed for individuals interested in working in the cable telecommunications industry as a provider, contractor, or vendor.
