Description:
The SCTE Broadband Fiber Transport Specialist (BFTS) curriculum covers many aspects of optical signal distribution in the access and transport network architectures. A learner will gain an in-depth understanding of fiber optic light theory, optical transport technologies, and optical cables. This knowledge will be leveraged in learning about the basic principles of designing, constructing, maintaining, and troubleshooting these networks. Participants will also learn about the tools, test equipment, and procedures used when working on optical networks.

- Fiber Optic Cables
- Fiber Testing and Restoration
- Optical Network Design
- Optical Construction

- SCTE Understanding Fiber Technology
- SCTE Broadband Distribution Specialist (BDS) Course
Target Audience:
- Maintenance Technician/System Technician or equivalent
- Headend or Hub Engineers
Certification Exam Information:
Upon completion, learners will be prepared to earn the nationally recognized SCTE Broadband Fiber Transport Specialist (BFTS) certification. The certification is designed for individuals interested in working in the cable telecommunications industry as a cable provider, contractor, or vendor.
